BA Diploma in International Relations & Diplomacy

The Bachelor of Arts major in International Relations & Diplomacy examines the historical, ideological, economic, and political aspects of nation-states relationships. The program seeks to enlighten the minds of students with the central concerns of international relations such as – Foreign Policy Analysis, International Institutions, Geopolitics of Energy, Strategic studies, International Political Economy, International Law, Modern Diplomacy and International Relations theory and Practice. It is the Institute’s purpose to seek to supplement the classroom-based instruction by numerous opportunities to students to participate in research and round-table discussion trips OECD, World Bank, UNESCO and other Non-Governmental Organizations in Europe.

The Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations & Diplomacy provides an option for students who wish to pursue their humanistic studies extensively and at an advanced level. Students majoring in English or completing another major departure receive this degree. This individual pursuit is by special arrangement only, requiring approval by the Dean of the Department of Humanities. The International Institute of Paris offers a choice of more than ten distinct and solid BA programs. These have been carefully designed to permit students to focus on their chosen careers.

Department of theology and Religious Studies

The International Institute of Paris BA is a flexible program of study for students who require a greater choice and specialization within their undergraduate business degree. Theology is the study of the human experience of God and of that experience through religious traditions, doctrines and rituals. At the Department of Theology and Religious Studies, theology is an academic pursuit and more. By promoting a mutually critical dialogue between human experience and religious traditions, the study of theology can communicate a deeper knowledge of one’s religious beliefs and ground a stable relationship with God.

At the same time, it can foster understanding across religious boundaries so that the people of the world can live together in harmony and peace. In fields like textual Studies, Roman and Anglo-Catholics and Evangelicals, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Pentecostal and Charismatic Studies, Inter-cultural Theology, Inter-Religious Relations, Islamic Studies, religious in the Contemporary World, and Quaker Studies, the Institute has an outstanding international reputation.

Dual Degree

Students can earn up to 75 of these credits through a combination of transfer credits and credits awarded through other program. The program combines business theory and practical course work that develops the student’s ability to critically analyses and comprehend the latest thinking and best business practice.

Through team and project work students develop excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Graduates of this program will emerge confidant and work ready, with a good grasp of business fundamentals and a portfolio of both employment-focused and personal skills. It was an important initiative to provide quality education to the B.A. students and enabling them to have a solid grounding in some disciplines, acquire linguistic skills and some foundational knowledge and be equipped with some skills to enter the world of work.

The International Institute of Paris B.A. Program Admission Department shall consider and formulate new proposals to add or modify the Continue and Application Courses and introduce new inter-disciplinary courses for approval by the Academic Department. The Committee shall be empowered to review the B.A. Program as a whole and make changes in specific aspects or components from time to time or as and when necessary. It shall endeavor to address the needs of the international students and those enrolled in the International Institute of Paris E-Learning Program.

For the B.A. in Humanities, students must complete a core of four courses in basic methods of understanding culture through the humanities, and then choose combinations of courses in European, American, Latin American, Asian, African and Cross- Cultural Studies; in one of these culture-study areas, additional courses will be chosen, making it the area of emphasis in the major.

Students must also complete HUM 489, the Humanities Senior Seminar, in their junior year.

Students Selection

The International Institute of Paris identifies and enrolls highly qualified students from around the world. In particular, we admit students who can contribute to and benefit from the international-style living and education that we have to offer.

The Admission Committee select students not only on the basis of their grades and test scores but also for their creativity and leadership as demonstrated in co- and extracurricular activities prior to university–their general level of life achievement.

Admission Committee

The admission Committee is a diverse and talented group who share a commitment to bringing the best possible student body to International Institute of Paris. The Commission of selection consists of professionals who base themselves on relevant criteria to retain the best students within the Institute by offering them the best conditions of study. The selection is objective and is only based on conditions of merits. A baccalaureate degree or equivalent is required for entering into the BBA Program or an equivalent degree.

Transfer Students

Students who wish to transfer to the International Institute of Paris from a different university or Business School, after having received sufficient course credits from the previous institution, may do so by filling out the same application form. Only students who have completed a considerable amount of university course work may transfer into an advanced semester.

BA Thesis Regulations

A BA thesis is a scientific paper that should comply with current scientific standards in form and content. At the time the student begins their thesis work, the following course sequence is provided for all work directed toward completion of the BA Thesis. Beginning in the second program year, students working on their thesis should register for one of these courses per term, in sequence.

A professor from the student’s major will supervise the writing of the thesis. Students are required to choose a supervisor during the first three weeks of the semester in which the thesis is to be written. The supervisor must approve the thesis topic before the student sets upon writing the thesis.
