The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering degree program has a two-part objective. The first is to provide students with a strong background in mathematics, physics, and engineering science. The curriculum includes courses in digital systems, embedded systems; integrated circuits design, including operating systems and software engineering.

The second objective is to provide students with the skills necessary to be effective contributors in a quality-oriented, customer-focused environment. Courses throughout the program, especially those in the junior and senior years, emphasize an open-ended, design-oriented approach to solving engineering problems.

Teamwork, communication skills, and an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving are integrated into the senior, computer engineering design courses.

The Computer Engineering Program

Engineering is the application of science and mathematics for problem solving and for the creation of products. An engineered product in general terms, is a system designed to satisfy a particular need and that meets stringent specifications. Computer Engineering is a specialized discipline that combines electrical engineering and computer science.

Computer engineers provide society with its information systems: computers, digital cards, computer chips, operating systems, real-time systems. Computer engineers are responsible for ensuring the safe operation of information systems. Not only will computer engineers be expert designers of computers and of their digital components, but they will also be expert in the design and analysis of control systems based on computers, as well as in the design of large communication networks.

2IP International BSc in Computer Science is a 3 Year BSc Major in Computer Science in Management and Information Systems. The BSc in Computer Science program in information technology requires a mini-thesis which enables the student to perfect his knowledge and skills.

The BSc in Computer Science Program provides a rigorous foundation in both the theoretical and practical aspects of computing. Core computer science courses provide the students with an intensive background in writing complex software systems and in the design and interconnection of computers.

Electives are available from various areas in computer science – including multimedia, BSc and software engineering, networks and wireless systems, web-based systems, computer engineering, and computational science. These are designed so that the students can either take courses from several areas or specialize in a particular area.
